Voting
How does it work?
All members present at the meeting are given the opportunity to vote for one of the three selected organizations. Ballots are collected and tallied at the meeting, and the cause with the most votes is awarded the full amount. All members write their $100 checks directly to the organization with the highest votes. As a committed member, we ask that you support the charity that wins, even if you personally voted for another charity.
If two charities tie with the most votes, then there will be a second vote between them. If the run-off results in another tie, then the names of both charities will be put in a hat and the winner will be randomly selected. In the case of a three way tie, the names of all three charities will be put in a hat and the winner will be randomly selected. All members present at the meeting are given the opportunity to vote for one of the three selected organizations. Paying Donations
How do I donate if cannot attend a meeting?
If you miss a meeting the chosen organization will be communicated by FaceBook and an email from the 100+ Women of Ozaukee county email account.
Do I have to write a check? Can't I use a credit card or cash instead?
At this time you must write a check.
Why can't I just send the donation to the charity myself?
Sending a donation directly to 100+ Women first will enable us to accurately track donations. In the event that the recipient accepts online payments, we will communicate that option to the memberships as a payment option.
Is my contribution tax deductible?
It is not a requirement for nominations that recipients are 501c3 organizations.
Please consult your accountant for more information on tax deductibility.
